Hulkageddon II

Hulkageddon happens when PvP side of EVE decides the mining carebears have had way too easy time lately -And are bored, let us not forget that.

They'll get in ships and start suicideganking anything that might have a miner fitted into it.

Good time is had by all, well most. Some will whine and others will see injustice in part of the mechanics.

I'm going to quote an answer I put in another blog, just to address the questions of surviving suicidegankers.

"It seems to me people are missing something here, that 10k EHP may well keep you from those solo gankers, it won't keep you safe from a BattleShip but then, if a BS can't take down a miner... something is off.

True, getting hammered by 5 attackers instead of one changes things, but where excactly are you losing in if this is the case?

TEAMWORK

You can not, should not, never ever be able to out solo PvP five dedicated attackers without some serious investments in isk, SP and skills.

However get 4 more people on your side and see how things change?

For instance 3 other Hulk pilots with that 25m3 drone bay. (Shield rep, damage or variation of some.)

And 1 Logistics ship! -Think you would have a chance by then? Also, don't solo fit, team fit."

I'm not an asshat! I just suffer from....

It's not the first time and it most likely will not be the last. I am speaking of: "I suffer from X and that gives me right to...." excuses. Sometimes people even use them as justification for the asshat of the day, instead of the asshat themselves voicing it.

I for instance happen to suffer from a form (there are several) of bipolar disorder, while it does mean I may have some very severe mood swings, it however does not make me an asshat, jerk or an idiot. Imagine that.

I think anyone accepting or attempting to justify ingame asshattery via real life disorders or diseases has just attacked all those suffering from the disorder. Really, you would not buy such a story if there was a racial reason given for it, would you?

Stuff that the disorders, in my mind, do justify:

1. Being away from the game (Since you really really really need to take a few weeks of rest in your friendly hospital ward). Or you just recognise that you are not in condition to operate heavy machinery (or drama aka. diplomacy) today.

2. Well that is about all I can think of.

Physical restrictions are another thing, from speech issues to trouble with using the comp. But even they do not really justify asshattery, do they?

So the next time someone says "I suffer from..." as an excuse for being jerks, asshats, griefers or anything? Gank them, it is your moral obligation towards those of us suffering from disorders.

"There are widespread problems with social stigma, stereotypes and prejudice against individuals with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder." -Quote from the wikipedia article on Bipolar disorder.

Who the hell am I?

Just a new player to EVE online with time on his hands.

Just the facts:

1. Under 10million SP on my main

2. Thinking of taking the main of into the sordid world of piracy, we will have to see if that actually happens.

3. Been reading piracy guides & blogs for a while now.

4. Roleplayer, I don't take EVE as serious business but my characters do. It's part of the fun for me.

5. Carebear or not? I really don't know.
